Missionary family serving in Tokyo

About Us

We are a missionary family serving at Tokyo Lutheran Church through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Pastor Megan holds a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, with undergraduate studies in Elementary Education and Religion. Her ministry has focused on creating meaningful programs for youth and families, supporting parents and caregivers, and meeting people right where they are. She has also developed a mental health curriculum that helps students use their faith and relationship with Jesus to navigate life’s challenges.

At the heart of her calling is a deep belief that the church can be a place where people from all walks of life come together to support, encourage, and uplift one another in Jesus’ name—living out the call to love God and love our neighbors.

Tee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Cambodia and a degree in Cybersecurity, along with a Master of Arts in Diakonia from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hong Kong, where we met. He previously served as Principal of the Biblical Institute for Community Leadership Development in Cambodia, supporting pastors in rural communities. Tee is passionate about education and has spent much of his career teaching English and computer skills, as well as working in IT and cybersecurity support within public schools.

We are blessed with two boys, Sacha and Saya, who bring joy, curiosity, and energy into our lives. They love reading, building, exploring, and spending time in the water.

We are honored to serve in Tokyo and would love for you to be part of this journey with us.

About the Mission

We serve as missionaries with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), partnering with communities around the world through faith, service, and relationships.

The ELCA partners with over 80 companion churches globally. Our work in Tokyo is rooted in these relationships—walking alongside others in shared ministry and purpose.

Accompaniment means walking together in solidarity—practicing mutuality, interdependence, and respect.

The Japan Evangelical Lutheran Church has a long-standing partnership with the ELCA, especially with the South Carolina Synod. Through this relationship, we are called to serve at Tokyo Lutheran Church.
